The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m.

Statement was made that the meeting was held in accordance with the requirements of the Open Public Meeting Act.

For the record, due to a malfunction of the tape recorder at the beginning of the meeting, Vicki DeMarco, recording secretary, proceeded to take the minutes of this meeting in shorthand and on paper. There is no tape recording of this meeting.

The Treasurer's Report for December 2005 and the Bill List for December 2005 were not given due to the Treasurer's absence.

A motion was made by Nick Smolney and seconded by Michael Spina and unanimously agreed upon for the approval of the December 14, 2005 Meeting Summary Report.

Russell Azzarello gave his final Executive Director's Report for the month of December 2005.

Stasi Farm: Russ met with the Stasi family, who owns the property on Englishtown Road. The Township would like to see a mixed use for the property rather than straight housing.

There was discussion about the Arbe property, who was contacted for some development of a supermarket in the past. Not enough residential in the immediate area yet.

Ponte Vecchio Restaurant recently opened for business on Route 516.

Discussion about BJ's Club opening - Mr. Azzarello said they were ready to open soon.

On Monday, January 9, 2006, Mr. Azzarello met with George Sharpf and Cynthia Joy of the Western Monmouth YMCA project. They met to discuss the already donated funds that were given when the Red Bank YMCA was going to do the project. They seem to have a good handle on the financial picture and the Red Bank funds have been transferred.

A motion was made by Nick Smolney and seconded by Mike Spina and unanimously agreed upon to accept the Executive Director's Report.

New Business:

Patrick Gillespie brought the subject of the Jets forward. Mr. Gillespie met with Woody Johnson from the Jets organization. Mr. Gillespie has made another pitch to Woody Johnson. A bill was made to have the Sports Authority do the project along with the Jets organization. The Jets make the site selection.

Mr. Gillespie feels it is a positive sign that the Jets did come back to look at the Old Bridge site without notifying anyone in town. The competition is intense. The Jets should make their selection by the end of February. Their next step is to narrow it down to 5 or 6 sites. The Jets organization will be in touch with the towns.

Mr. Redmond said great things would come from having the Jets in Old Bridge. Mr. Gillespie added that we are at a disadvantage as Old Bridge is beyond the mile radius that the Jets are looking for. We need to keep pitching Old Bridge.

Mr. Azzarello said that the day he and Mike Jacobs showed the organization the site, there was no other town at the time that had a hospital and/or medical facility as near to the practice site as Old Bridge. Pet Davis added that once we are on the final list, we can work from there.

On a new subject, Mr. Redmond asked if anyone had information on the piece of property behind the Goddard School. Is a senior housing complex going up behind there? He said nothing has come before the Planning Board or the Zoning Board. No one at the meeting has heard anything on that property.

The public portion was opened. There were no comments.

A motion was made be Ed Testino, seconded by Nick Smolney, and unanimously agreed upon to go into Executive Session at 7:10 p.m.

A motion was made by Nick Smolney and seconded by Pete Davis and unanimously agreed upon to adjourn the meeting at 7:35 p.m.
