Cindy Bell reported that the Mayor's office received Joan Pesetsky's resignation from the OBEC. Gary Szelc would be listed as an alternate member. Blanche Hoffman will recommend to the Mayor that Owen Henry replace Joan Pesetsky as a voting member.
- APPROVAL OF February 7, 2001 MINUTES
Motion to approved the minutes was moved by Blanche Hoffman, seconded by Robert Sommers, all in favor.
- BILLS OUTSTANDING
The purchase of William E. Honachefsky's book - Ecologically Based Municipal Land Use Planning - will be tabled for the next OBEC meeting.
March 31, 2001 Land Trust Rally at $45.00 per person - motion to pay for Blanche Hoffman, Owen Henry and Wayne Farmer to attend was moved by Blanche Hoffman, seconded by Robert Sommers, all in favor.
- TIRES AND RECYCLING PROGRAM
Tabled for the next OBEC meeting. Cindy Bell reported in Mickey Gross's absence that the project is to pick up tires along the roads.
- EARTH DAY PLANS
Robert Sommers reported he will have 500 seedlings from the Parks and Forestry. There is an oyster nursery growing oysters in Perrine Park, and this work is being done with Mike Stringer from the NY/NJ Baykeeper. Mickey Gross arranged fro hamburgers from Burger King and pizza from Papa Johns. Cindy Bell will send out thank you letters.
- ARBOR DAY PLANS
Cindy Bell asked for a motion to approve $100.00 to purchase a plaque. Robert Sommers moved, Wayne Farmer seconded, all in favor.
- OPEN SPACE
Blanche Hoffman announced that Greg Remaud, Conservation Projects Manager for the NY/NJ Baykeeper reported that next month he will be addressing the council on the potential of rehabilitating Margaret's Creek a/k/a Marquis Creek as a National Estuarine Research Reserve Project. The Planning Department wants to keep some of the property along Route 35 for commercial development.
- WATERSHED MANAGEMENT AREA 12
Wayne Farmer attended the February 8, 2001 meeting of the Bayshore Water Management Group. The next meeting will be held on March 8th.
- BUDGET
The Finance Department is preparing SFY 2002 budget. Blanche Hoffman submitted the Environmental Commission budget in the amount of $7,675.00.
- PLANNING
138-00P - AT&T Wireless This is an unmanned communication site on Route 35 in Cliffwood Beach tabled for the next OBEC meeting.
