3. Crossroads Redevelopment Plan
Discussion ensued on the redevelopment plan with the main issue being the building of Crossroads would be a large tax relief for the residents of Old Bridge as envisioned by the supporters of the project.
The OBEC will respond to Mayor Phillips and the Township Council as follows: At the OBEC meeting of September 8, 2004, the Commission members in attendance were unanimously of the opinion that the 500 acres would be more beneficial to the residents of Old Bridge and taxpayers to leave the acreage as open space.
George Millet suggested a member of the OBEC should be involved with the Economic Development Council. With the OBEC being unfamiliar with the by-laws of the EDC, the Commission will request to Mayor Phillips to look into the possibility of having an OBEC member participate as it would be beneficial for the Township.
4. Old Bridge Day
Wayne Farmer, in working with Greg Remaud, NY/NJ Baykeeper, will have maps and aerial photos showing the Cheesequake and Margaret's Creek areas.
Letter to Andrew Wilner, executive director NY/NJ Baykeeper, thanking him for the continued assistance by Greg Remaud given to the OBEC for help with drawing up conservation plans for the Township.
5. Margaret's Creek
George Millet reported that a bridge will be built over Margaret's Creek, and a macadam bike path will be constructed. All easements have been approved except for the utility company. The project should be completed by September 2005. Mr. Millet will be in contact with Ralph Albanir and, therefore, any questions that the OBEC may have should be sent to Mr. Millet and he will forward to Mr. Albanir.
