Minutes of the Environmental Commission
September 7, 2005

1. Approval of June 6, 2005 Minutes
Motion to approve the minutes as presented made by Wayne Farmer, seconded by Blanche Hoffman, all in favor.
2. Bills Outstanding
Blanche Hoffman presented bill from LeWayne Corporation for 500 pens at a cost of $513.00 for Old Bridge Day. Motion to approve payment made by Owen Henry, seconded by Perry Simone, all in favor.
3. Sayreville High School Conservation Club
Both Deborah Marquez and Wayne Farmer met with Sayreville Councilman and Conservation Corps Leader, Stanley Drwal, to further discuss the organization and operation of the Conservation Corps in Sayreville.
Deborah has contacted John Allen of the Old Bridge Board of Education and there is interest in having a similar program in Old Bridge. Deborah will contact the Township Council and Mayor Phillips to present her proposal.
Wayne Farmer presented to the OBEC as outline for a similar operation in the Township.
4. Stormwater Management
Mr. Henry Penley, Supt. of OBUMA Sewer Division, was invited to attend the OBEC meeting but had no definitive response from him. Mr. Millet will try to make contact with Mr. Penley again.
5. Waterfront Park
Phase III will be started in the spring time. Mr. Millet will follow up on the status of the installation of the interpretive signs.
6. Old Bridge Day
To be held October 1, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm.
Blanche Hoffman will contact ANJEC for literature on the Stormwater Management to hand out.
7. Budget
Presented for information only.
8. ANJEC Environmental Leadership Training - October 7 - 8, 2005
Any OBEC member interested in attending should contact Blanche Hoffman.

Perry Simone presented list of key contact people - will add Ralph Albanir, ANJEC, and Stanley Drwal, Sayreville Councilman.
10. Community Development Director
Blanche Hoffman announced Ellen Ritchie as the Director.
11. Planning and Zoning
66-03Z - Alfieri Office Park - tabled for October OBEC meeting.
57-03Z - Alfieri Hotel - tabled for October OBEC meeting.
104-03Z - Stavola OB Materials - OBEC had no comments.
60-04Z - JJPP Waste Management - OBEC had no comments.
Old Bridge MUA Replacement of Failing Section of 30 inch Interceptor
Memo to be sent to the MUA asking what will the old pipeline be filled in with, as well as details on the existing abandonment pipeline. The OBEC will inquire what access there will be to the new pipeline and details of the roadway, i.e., gravel or paved.
