Minutes of the Environmental Commission October 5, 2005

1. Approval of September 7, 2005 Minutes
George Millet corrected Item 5, Waterfront Park, to read: Phase III will be started in the spring time. Motion to approve the minutes as corrected made by Wayne Farmer, seconded by George Millet, all in favor.
2. Bills Outstanding
Lee Wayne Company sent in a bill for $541.44 for Old Bridge Day, which included tax. Bill to be sent to Finance since the Township is tax exempt.
3. ANJEC 32nd Annual Environmental Congress - Oct. 21, 2005
Blanche Hoffman will be attending with registration for $50.00. Motion to approve payment to ANJEC made by Blanche Hoffman, seconded by Perry Simone, all in favor.
4. Old Bridge Day
Blanche Hoffman, Perry Simone, and George Millet manned the environmental table, handing out pens and literature on recycling and stormwater management.
George Millet reported a Girl Scout Troop is interested in doing a project involving the environment.
5. Potential Old Bridge Conservation Club
Deborah Marquez will send her proposals to Mayor Phillips. Deborah also gave information to Councilwoman Lucille Panos. Deborah will inquire whether or not a senior student involved in the Sayreville Conservation Corp. would attend an OBEC meeting.
Blanche Hoffman will schedule a meeting with Ellen Ritchie, Deborah Marquez, and Wayne Farmer to discuss having a Conservation Club in Old Bridge.
Blanche Hoffman discussed a Yardley Manor residents concern regarding a neighbor building in a conservation easement. A question was raised as to whether or not real estate agents inform potential buyers of resales that property has a conservation easement. Blanche will contact Township Code Enforcement regarding the enforcement of easements across streams.
Wayne Farmer reported he had attended a Council meeting during which the proposed golf course was discussed and a developer is being considered to build and manage the course. The development of the land will be disturbed as little as possible, particularly the trees in the back of the Smith property. Blanche Hoffman will get an updated map when they become available.
6. Alfieri Application 66-03Z and 57-05Z
The Alfieri applications are scheduled to come before the Zoning Board on October 25th.
7. Planning and Zoning
104-03Z - Stavola OB Materials - OBEC has no comments.
50-03Z - Russ Weber - OBEC has no comments.
