1. Approval of November 2, 2005 Minutes
Tabled for approval until January 11, 2006 meeting.
2. Bills Outstanding
No bills to date.
3. Adopt 2006 Calendar
Motion to approve the calendar as presented made by Owen Henry, seconded by George Millett, all in favor.
4. Environmental Commission Appointments
Those members to be reappointed are as follows:
Owen Henry - January 1, 2006 - December 31, 2008 (3 years)
George Millett - January 1, 2006 - December 31, 2008 (3 years)
Deborah Marquez - Voting Member - January 1, 2006 - December 31, 2008 (3 years)
Gary Szelc - Associate Member - January 1, 2006 - December 31, 2006 (1 year)
Chris Flynn Rozanski - High School Representative - January 1, 2006 - December 31, 2006 (1 year)
Members were directed to send letter to the Mayor requesting reappointment and arrange to be sworn in.
5. Planning Board/Environmental Commission
Owen Henry reported he will continue on the Planning Board and has advised Mayor Phillips.
6. Old Bridge Conservation Club
Deborah Marquez had no report update as a meeting with Ellen Ritchie has yet to be scheduled. This item will be put on the agenda for the January 11, 2006 meeting.
George Millett handed out information from ANJEC in reference to the 2006 planning grants for NJ Municipalities, which provides matching grants of up to $20,000 each to towns for land use planning projects that protect natural resources, open space and quality of life in New Jersey communities. A mailing from ANJEC to environmental commissions, mayor, administrator and planning board will receive application packets.
Wayne Farmer suggested that the OBEC could look into this project for 2006.
7. Stormwater Management
George Millet will go to the township to review the stormwater management report, as time permits. Owen Henry as a member of the Planning Board has reviewed this report and indicated that the quality of run off had been added.
8. Clean-up Strip Malls
George Millett will check with the Township as it relates to seeing if there is an ordinance in place for such clean-ups. After further discussion it was suggested that the respective ward representatives be contacted to address the problem.
9. Planning and Zoning
66-03Z and 57-05Z - Alfieri - Tabled for January 11, 2006 OBEC meeting.
Deborah Marquez queried about the plaques that were to be put in place at the waterfront if in fact they had been. Mr. Albanir should be contacted.
Chris Flynn-Rozanski will contact the High School Environmental Club to see if there is interest as it relates to forming a Conservation Club in Old Bridge.
Wayne Farmer suggested members to come to the next meeting with ideas for projects that the OBEC should consider to work on for 2006.
