1. Approval of April 5, 2006 Minutes
Motion to approve the minutes as presented made by Wayne Farmer, seconded by Owen Henry. All in favor with Blanche Hoffman and Raquel Khodash abstaining.
2. Bills Outstanding
Motion to approve reimbursement to Blanche Hoffman for $23.92 for the purchase of water for Earth Day made by Wayne Farmer, seconded by Perry Simone, all in favor.
Motion to approve payment of $464.40 to Amerimark Direct Recycling Promotions for 72 T-shirts purchased for Earth Day, made by Blanche Hoffman, seconded by Wayne Farmer, all in favor. 3. Earth Day
Blanche Hoffman reported that in addition to herself, Wayne Farmer and Perry Simone were in attendance. Hamburgers were donated by Wendy's and apples from the Farmers Market.
Jim Fazcek, along with the Scouts, planted trees.
4. ANJEC Workshop - Using GIS - May 20, 2006
Motion to approve payment not to exceed $60.00 made by Perry Simone, seconded by Owen Henry, all in favor. Blanche Hoffman, Raquel Khodash and Mrs. Ann Miller will be participating.
5. EPA Region 2 Environmental Quality Award
Blanche Hoffman reported that the OBEC candidate Greg Remaud did not qualify for the reward. With all the pertinent documentation sent along with the application, Blanche Hoffman will inquire exactly what criteria was used in the selection process.
Wayne Farmer reported the Sommers Brothers property, as well as Marquis Creek, will be purchased through Green Acres. The property next to Whale Creek, which is owned by Elizabethtown Disposal, will also be purchased. All these properties would be added to Cheesequake Park.
Blanche Hoffman reported the Township Council resolution to award contract of $23,000 to Scanlon to work on the Laurence Harbor Beachfront landscaping project.
6. Natural Resource Inventory Update
Wayne Farmer presented a preliminary outline of subjects to be incorporated in the ERI, which would provide a basis for the Master Plan and help with the site plan reviews. The OBEC's goal is to put together a task force to complete an outline by the end of summer and have a projected completion date within six months with sections and subsections to the update.
Blanche Hoffman discussed the project with Mayor Phillips and his suggestion is to have some staff from Engineering, Planning, and Economic Development work with the task force.
