ERI Subcommittee Report Blanche Hoffman presented a draft letter to Mayor Phillips and the Township Council regarding the Environmental Commissions proposal to update the June 1994 ERI. The OBEC believes this update will support decision making and adopt ordinances that will protect and support the Township's natural resources, as well as help identify those area of the Township that are most suitable for development. The OBEC will request comments from the Mayor and Township Council to be received before the January 10 OBEC meeting. 6. Recycling Debbie DePew reported on various shopping centers in the town that have received letters regarding litter and clean-up. Blanche Hoffman suggested that Debbie contact Michael Jacobs regarding an update on the drainage problem in the catch basins on Route 9 (bus lanes). 7. Global Landfill George Millett's report to be put on agenda for the January 10 OBEC meeting. 8. Open Space Blanche Hoffman queried why the Sommers property could not be added on to Cheesequake Park. One of the stumbling blocks is the question as to whom is going to do the clean-up of the property. The DEP is trying to get Old Bridge to pay for the clean-up. George Millet will continue to secure a list of land that can be utilized for open space. George would like to present a proposal to the Open Space Committee to connect Cooper School with Memorial School via a greenway. 9. Mannino Park Memo will be sent to Ellen Ritchie, director of Community Development, asking for an update on the park, with a cc to Mayor Phillips. Blanche Hoffman presented ANJEC's 2007 Planning Grants for NJ Municipalities and Counties. Further information packets will be mailed to municipalities in mid-January. Blanche believe Old Bridge should consider using a grant for updating the ERI. 10. Planning and Zoning 56-03Z - Russell Weber The OBEC reviewed the final site plan and believes the waiver for landscaped parking lots should be denied because the lots act as a filter for pollution from cars. The ordinance that calls for stormwater management and parking should be adhered to. The OBEC comments submitted April 5, 2005 remain the same (memo of that date will be sent as an attachment). 9:50 p.m. - Motion to adjourn the meeting made by George Millett, seconded by Wayne Farmer, all in favor.
