Human Relations Commission Meeting Minutes June 5, 2006
In attendance were:
John Grossmann, Priscilla Grossmann, Inell Springer, Reginald Springer, Martha Gesimondo, Michael Bruno, Babette Jacowitz, Ashok Chaudhary, Isaac Crosson, Joseph Mannucci
7:40 p.m. - Salute to the Flag
Copy of May 1, 2006 minutes distributed to all commission members.
Report of Executive Commission: business cards will be ready soon.
Report of Operating Commission: discussion held on possible Essay Contest, open to entire community. Sponsors for scholarships to be found.
Babette Jacowitz to make contact with the FBI to run a program on Internet abuse. This will be open to Old Bridge Township residents.
Ashok Chaudhary is looking into two student reps. from the Old Bridge High School. Criteria for selecting students: must have an interest in community affairs or planning a career in community minded social work.
Old Business
Meet and Greet with the Mayor and Council went very well.
Memorial Day Parade: Reginald Springer was the only participant from the Human Relations Commission.
New Business
Old Bridge Matters will begin again soon. Inell Springer and Isaac Crosson will contact Gene McLaughlin.
New Programs
Program for the Spanish and Latino community Program on hunger issues Program on gang awareness education Program on cultural awareness and bias training Program on hate on the Internet
Michael Bruno will contact the Star Ledger for media coverage.
