Old Bridge Township Open Space Committee

Old Bridge Open Space Committee President Jack Cocozziello called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.
Jack mentioned sending out the minutes and the agenda via email in the future.
George asked about additional members being assigned to the group. Jack stated that Rose-Marie Saracino posted a request for resumes to be submitted by anyone who wishes to join the Open Space Committee.
Jack spoke with Michael Jacobs, the Township Business Administrator, regarding parcel donations and how the open space committee can receive donations of land. Mr. Convery, the Township Attorney, submitted a written response to me, Colleen McGurk, which I then gave to the committee.
The Right of First Refusal according to Mr. Jacobs means that land could be donated as open space.
Jack questioned the purpose of the Preservation Funding Assessment and whether or not the open space committee could utilize this for funding. We will need to look into this further.
We then discussed the list of foreclosed vacant lots obtained from the Finance Department. Most were of no interest to the committee. George did see two promising properties that we will look into further according to the established criteria for open space. One is located off Industrial Road and another is located in the Laurence Harbor area. George will forward the block and lot numbers so that I can ascertain whether or there are wetlands or critical slopes located on the property.
Jack mentioned creating a map of portions of Old Bridge containing information such as, township owned property and county owned that is vacant.
The meeting was moved to adjourn by Jack Cozziello and seconded by Robert Nagler.
