ITEMS TO BE DISCUSSED
Background Checks for Youth Athletic Organization Coaches: Steve Donohue is concerned about past violations that may have happened when someone was very young. How would this prohibit them from volunteering at the leagues? How would someone’s privacy be protected from past events being rehashed? Tom mentions that the town would determine what violations would be checked for and how far back they would go. Steve Donohue, Bob Larson, Bob Pepe and Nick Antuofermo and Councilman Bill Baker volunteered to be on a committee which would look into writing a draft. Steve would be the Chairman of this committee. Tom mentions that funding for these background checks would need to be researched; funding can be made possible through certain available grants.
