This meeting was called to order at 7:50 pm.
ATTENDANCE
In attendance were: Tom Badcock, Lisa Cooney, Nick Antuofermo, Steve Donohue, Kerry Frew, Denis Kilduff (arrived 8:20 pm), Robert Larson, Irene O’Kane, Ash Patel, Robert Pepe, Councilman Bill Baker, and Councilman Richard Greene (arrived 8:25 pm). Carol Norberg was present to take the minutes. Absent from this meeting were: Ray Battaglino, Isaac Crosson, Fran DiRocco, Joe Dunn, Jody Huss, James Lamites and Councilman Kevin Calogera.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes to the April meeting were approved.
ITEMS TO BE DISCUSSED
Bob Pepe asked about the broken fence behind the municipal tennis courts. Tom will have Parks Maintenance make a repair. Tom mentions a safe passageway will be provided for people passing through from the Arbors. The Township Engineer is waiting for permits from NJDEP in order to put this passageway in.
RECREATION/CAMP ROBIN UPDATE
Summer registration started, online registration is working very well. Camp Robin had their registration last night. Pooch Parade will be June 5th. Drive In Movie will be held June 30th in the Arena Parking lot. Summer Concerts are being planned at Geick Park.
CAPTIAL PROJECTS
1. Arena Parking Lot – Project done
2. Golf Course – Township has Green Acres approval for full a service restaurant. Lease is being fine tuned.
3. Mannino Park - Bid will be advertised for roadway going in to the park in the next two weeks. YMCA is hoping to be able to start construction in the Fall.
4. Pension Rd. - 80% complete with irrigation and drainage project.
5. Ticetown Rd. Irrigation – Project Done.
6. Geick Park Synthetic Surface - Turf will be installed right after Memorial Day.
7. Musco Sports Lighting – contract was awarded to do the controlling feature for lighting at Township Fields
8. Lighting Projects – Kinsey Assoc. working on design to light Veterans Park tennis courts and handball courts and basketball courts at Cliffwood Beach.
9. Vets Park Recreation Bldg. - $100,000 of CDBG money to renovate this building. This will be going to bid in a couple of weeks.
10. Laurence Harbor Annex Bldg – landscaping work was awarded
11. Bus Shelter – Fire Dept. needs it to be moved due to the pipe on the wall being blocked. Possibility it may be moved six feet.
12. CB playground – waiting official approval from MUA engineers.
13. Annie Dr. Playground – project done.
14. Parks Equipment – Township received bids on the backhoe and trailer.
15. Civic Center – office to be expanded, possibility of using pit to renovate for offices for the township.
16. Central Park Improvements – replacing amenities and gazebo
17. Vets Park Dugouts – will be ordering the new dugouts
18. Civic Center Fire Suppression System – wood beamed ceiling is an issue for the contractor doing this work.
OLD BUSINESS
Steve Donohue talks about background checks for league volunteers. The Chief of Police will be invited to come to the June Recreation Advisory Board meeting.
