ATTENDANCE
The meeting began at 7:30 pm.
In attendance were: Tom Badcock, Ray Battaglino, Steve Donohue, Joe Dunn, Tara Flynn-Rozanski, Kerry Frew, Gerard Haran (late arrival), Denis Kilduff, Irene O’Kane (late arrival), Ash Patel, Bob Pepe, and Councilman Bill Baker.
Absent from this meeting were: Lisa Cooney (busy with Haunted House), Joe DeSimone (will be resigning), Fran DiRocco, Robert Felicetti (will be resigning), Robert Larson, Kevin Ruffler, and Councilmen Calogera and Greene. Pat Judge was present to take the minutes.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes of the September 2004 meeting were approved.
RECREATION/CAMP ROBIN UPDATE
Tom mentioned that all Fall Recreation programs were in full swing, including Arena and Camp Robin programs. Tom explained that the Halloween Haunted House was taking place and the Committee will go through at the end of the meeting.
CAPITAL PROJECTS
1. Golf Project – Request For Qualification’s (RFQ) were sent out to golf architectural/development firms and the township is looking for responses by December. Then qualified candidates will be sent a Request for Proposal’s (RFP).
2. Tennis Court Resurfacing – Received specs and work will be bid; project expected to be done in Spring.
3. Arena Roof Replacement – Contract was awarded to Bennetts and Huysman, architects from New York. They will be doing specs for this project.
4. Emergency Access Road for Emergency Vehicles at Geick – This project is being worked on by Parks Dept.
5. Sayrewood South Little League Parking Lot Paving – Engineer working on drainage issue.
6. Dog Park at Higgins Road – Being planned for across the street from Higgins Soccer Fields.
7. Central Park Playground – Fibar will be installed and equipment will be replaced.
8. Laurence Harbor – Flagpole, benches and planters to be installed in the Spring.
9. Ticetown Soccer Irrigation and Pension Road Irrigation & Drainage – Plans are being prepared for bid.
10. YMCA – Contract is almost ready to be signed between town and YMCA. Access Road plans were discussed.
OLD BUSINESS
Joe Dunn mentioned that the beach on Salt Water Day was not cared for. Tom mentioned that this was the County’s responsibility. Also Tom mentioned that this was not a Recreation Department sponsored event. Bill Baker suggests that the Mayor and Council are made aware by email or memo that in the future if any events are planned at this location that the planners have in place beach clean-up from the county before an event is allowed to go forward.
Discussions took place regarding Geick Park infield, Pension Road fields and Higgins parking lot paving.
Gerard mentioned that Rob Felicetti and Joe DeSimone were resigning from the committee. Tom mentioned that they will be writing their official resignation letters to the Council. Gerard thanks the both of them for the volunteer effort.
