James E. Cleary was appointed as Township Engineer in September 2005. He has over 40 years experience as a consultant in the field of civil engineering and land surveying in both the public and private sectors. For the past 20 years, Mr. Cleary operated his own multi-disciplined consulting firm and also served as the Director of Engineering for the City of South Amboy. He holds a B.S. degree in civil engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, and is licensed in the State of New Jersey as a Professional Engineer, Professional Land Surveyor, and Professional Planner. He holds membership in numerous professional societies, is a Certified Municipal Engineer, and is currently a member of the State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.
