The DARE program was introduced in Old Bridge Township in 1991.  To date, over 8,000 students have participated and graduated from this program.

Instructor training for DARE is conducted by mentors and educators throughout the State.  The training course is an 80 hour certification program.  Certification is maintained by instructing a minimum of one Core Curriculum of sixteen lessons each year.  DARE instructors receive continuing education through in-service training, classroom management, drug and alcohol education and lesson enhancement.

DARE is not a cure-all.  It is one component of a student's education in developing good decision making skills.

For more information on the DARE program, call us at (732) 721-4000 and ask for the DARE officer, or write to obpolice@oldbridge.com

Safety Tips

Do you have information that you would like to inform the police about?

Have you heard something about a wanted person, missing person, or a crime?

Do you have a tip that can help the police?

These tips can help you avoid becoming a victim of a crime when you are out and about or working at your job.  By taking a few simple precautions you can reduce the risk to yourself and also discourage those who commit crimes.  Burglars, robbers and thieves seek primarily to remove cash or property.  Many such intruders are capable of harming people with little provocation.  So whether at work, home or out on the street, take these precautions.
