The Township of Old Bridge continues with storm recovery efforts.
JCP&L linemen continue to work on substations within the Township of Old Bridge. Although some sections of town do have power, JCP&L has indicated that a majority of customers will not be restored until Wednesday, November 7, 2012. I have been and will continue to be in contact with the representatives from JCP&L and will provide additional information as soon as it becomes available. Residents are encouraged to report outages to JCP&L at 1-888-544-4877 or visit http://www.firstenergycorp.com for further updates.
The emergency shelter is active and open at the Carl Sandburg Middle School located at 3439 Route 516 in Old Bridge. The shelter can provide food and a place to sleep for displaced residents. Please note that this shelter cannot accommodate persons with medical needs or pets.
Curbside recycling and leaf collection have been suspended until further notice. The Township Recycling Center will be open on Monday, November 5, 2012 between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
Any Township residents who would like to make a food donation, or any donation, should contact the Dedicated Donation Line at (732) 721-5600 ext. 3072. Please do not contact the Police Department regarding donations as we are trying to keep the lines open for emergency services.
For information on disaster assistance, residents should contact the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) at 1-800-621-3326 or visit the FEMA Website at http://www.disasterassistance.gov.
I want to thank the residents, volunteers and employees of Old Bridge for their ongoing cooperation.
Mayor Owen Henry
