Today, JCP&L linemen continued to work on the substations within the Township of Old Bridge. Major work was performed on the transmission lines at Route 9 and Ferry Road. We are hoping that this will allow the remaining sections of town to come on line sooner than previously reported by JCP&L. I will continue to be in regular and frequent contact with the representatives from JCP&L and will provide additional information as soon as it becomes available. Residents are encouraged to report outages to JCP&L at 1-888-544-4877 or visit http://www.firstenergycorp.com for further updates.
The Old Bridge Municipal Utilities Authority (OBMUA) has reported that Old Bridge is no longer being served by Middlesex Water Company. The water system in town is stable and safe. There are no usage restrictions or advisories in place at this time. No disruption of service is expected.
The emergency shelter has been deactivated. A comfort station is still available at the Carl Sandburg Middle School from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM until further notice. Meals will be served at 8:00 AM, 12:00 Noon and 6:00 PM. Residents can also charge their cell phones, laptops and/or other portable devices at this location. Please do not contact the Police Department regarding the comfort station as we are trying to keep the phone lines clear for emergency services.
Any Township residents who would like to make a food donation, or any donation, should contact the Dedicated Donation Line at (732) 721-5600 ext. 3072. Please do not contact the Police Department regarding donations as we are trying to keep the lines open for emergency services.
