Recyclables in plastic bags are NO LONGER ACCEPTED. No plastic bags can be used for curbside recycling or they will be rejected by the County. Contaminated recyclables can also be rejected so please make sure you are recycling RIGHT!
A few simple guidelines to follow:
- Recycle plastic bags at the supermarket or throw them in the trash.
- Only #1 and #2 plastics are accepted in Middlesex County, NOT all plastics are recyclable!
- Empty and rinse out cans, bottles and recyclable containers.
- Flattened & clean cardboard ONLY, no oily pizza boxes!
Recyclables in plastic bags WILL NOT BE PICKED UP!
NO PLASTIC BAGS OF ANY KIND OR ANY COLOR.
No trash bags. No grocery bags. No shopping bags.
