OLD BRIDGE TOWNSHIP POLICE, FIRE AND FIRST AID APPLAUD HOSPITAL STAFF DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Old Bridge Township, NJ – Members of the police, fire and first aid departments showed their support for front line hospital employees at the Hackensack Meridian Raritan Bay Medical Center from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM on April 16, 2020.

About 90 emergency vehicles and 100 first responders were outside the hospital applauding and encouraging doctors and nurses as they entered and exited the building.

In attendance were members from the Old Bridge Township Police Department, Laurence Harbor Fire Department, Madison Park Fire Department, Sayreville Fire Department, Laurence Harbor First Aid, Cheesequake Volunteer First Aid, Red and White First Aid, Madison Park First Aid, Old Bridge Township Emergency Medical Service, Office of Emergency Management, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), Chief William Volkert, Business Administrator Himanshu Shah and Mayor Owen Henry.

“During this pandemic, doctors and nurses are on the frontlines helping infected patients. They risk their own safety in order to help others,” said Mayor Henry. “Their sacrifice is appreciated and the least we can do is cheer them on.”

The hour long event succeeded in showing appreciation to all the healthcare employees at Hackensack Meridian Raritan Bay Medical Center.
