JUNETEENTH

Old Bridge Township, NJ – We would like to acknowledge this day of freedom and liberation. Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. It is celebrated every year on the 19th of June.

This emancipation recognizes all African Americans whom were enslaved, including the last remaining in the Confederacy. It brings awareness of African American history and heritage.

It is imperative that we learn from history. Allow today to be a celebration of uniqueness and place differences aside. We shall never forget these vital moments in history.
