The Old Bridge Public Library seeks a skilled and experienced library professional to guide our transition to new leadership. We are a very active library serving a diverse community of over 70,000 people. We have two branches: our 50,000 square foot Central Branch and our diminutive Laurence Harbor Branch.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership during a transitional period, preserving our positive internal culture.
Guide staff and support Trustees through a period of change.
Oversee library operations, ensuring alignment with the library’s mission and goals.
Ensure the continuity and stability of library services and access through the search and hiring
process.
Required Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Library Science (MLS) or Library and Information Science (MLIS) from an
ALA accredited institution.
Minimum of five years of library experience, including three years in a supervisory role.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience directing a public library within a consortium library system.
Familiarity with New Jersey library law and regulations.
Experience in change management.
