Old Bridge Township Celebrates Senior Center Month

Silver Linings at Old Bridge delivers unique opportunities for creativity and growth

Old Bridge Township, NJ – Old Bridge, New Jersey - Today’s senior centers are places of discovery, encouraging older adults to discover their unique interests, talents, and aspirations. Senior centers offer a vibrant, action-packed combination of recreational activities, exercise classes, arts and crafts programs, educational opportunities and more.

Senior centers have evolved to provide vital services to older adults in the Old Bridge community, including transportation services and social services. September is National Senior Center Month, and Silver Linings at Old Bridge is celebrating exploration, self discovery, and individuality of and for older adults.

“Our senior center plays a vital role in ensuring that our aging population can age well and in place here in Old Bridge. It is important to recognize the crucial part our center plays in our community,” stated Mayor Owen Henry. From trips, to cupcake decorating classes and everything in between, Silver Linings at Old Bridge is a community hub where older adults find friendship, meaning, and purpose. To share the power of these connections, Silver Linings has planned many activities and programs during Senior Center Month.

David Bowie once said, ‘Aging is an extraordinary process where you become the person you always should have been.’ “Our members are discovering their best selves every day,” said Anahita Feltz, manager of Silver Linings at Old Bridge. “They should have the opportunity to continue connecting, exploring, and expressing their individuality as they age. We serve them and this community the best we can with fun and engaging programs, while also providing practical tools and resources to help them stay healthy and independent.”

Senior Center Month emphasizes the tremendous potential senior centers deliver in their communities, including programming that empowers older adults to holistically age well and strengthen mind, body, spirit, and community connections.
