Q. CAN I REQUEST AN ADJOURNMENT BY PHONE?
A. No. You must appear in court on the date set forth in your summons or ticket. All requests for Adjournments must be made in court.

Q. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR THE TICKETS TO BE ENTERED INTO THE SYSTEM?
A. It depends on whether the ticket was issued by the N.J. State Police or Old Bridge Police Officers.
1. N.J. State Police take approximately seven days to be entered into the computer system because they are not given to us immediately by the State Police. They usually mail the tickets to us approximately five to seven days after they are issued.
2. Old Bridge police tickets take approximately one to two days to be entered into the computer system. These tickets are usually handed into us the day after they are issued.
Q. CAN I PAY A TICKET OVER THE PHONE?
A. No. We are not equipped to handle telephone payments at this time.
Q. CAN I PAY THE TICKET IN THE STATE OR CITY I LIVE IN?
A. No. You have to pay the ticket in the town in which you received the ticket. Tickets can paid by mailing a check or money order before the payment due date. Certain tickets may also be paid online.

Q. WHERE CAN I POST BAIL?
A. Bail can be posted at any Police Department or at any Municipal Court. If you post bail at a Police Department, they will forward your bail money to us by mail. If you post bail at a Municipal Court, they will also forward your bail money to us by mail. Or, you can just simply post bail at the violations window of Old Bridge Municipal Court during our office hours.
Q. HOW CAN I POST BAIL?
A. You can post bail by money order, certified bank check or come in and post with cash.
Q. HOW CAN I APPLY FOR A PUBLIC DEFENDER?
A. On your court date you should ask the Judge if you can fill out an application for the Public Defender.
Q. WHEN DO I MEET MY PUBLIC DEFENDER?
A. On your next court date.
Q. CAN I DO PROBATION IN THE CITY OR STATE I LIVE IN?
A. The Middlesex County Probation Department will assign the location. They will take into consideration where you live and work.

A. In New Jersey, we do not use the term "District Attorney." In New Jersey, we have the PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE.

Q. HOW CAN I OBTAIN DISCOVERY?
A. All discovery requests should be directed to the Old Bridge Municipal Prosecutors Office at 1 Old Bridge Plaza, Old Bridge, N.J. 08857.
Q. WHERE CAN I PICK UP MY POLICE REPORT?
A1. If the police report was done by an Old Bridge police officer, you may obtain a copy from the Old Bridge Police Department Records Bureau on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. If the report was done by a New Jersey State trooper, you may obtain a copy from the New Jersey State Police in West Trenton.
A2. Police reports for motor vehicle accidents, if done by an Old Bridge police officer, may be downloaded from the township's website, www.oldbridge.com (click on Police Reports link on top of page) or, you may obtain a copy from the Old Bridge Police Department Records Bureau on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. Please allow at least 3 business days for download to be activated for your report.
Q. MY CAR WAS IMPOUNDED. WHERE DO I GO TO GET IT BACK?
A. If your car was impounded by the Old Bridge Police Department you will need to go the Old Bridge Police Department located on the ground floor of the Old Bridge Township Municipal building.

Q. HOW MANY POINTS DOES MY TICKET CARRY?
A. All points are assessed by the N.J. Motor Vehicle Commission. Call them at 1-609-292-6500 and someone there will be able to tell you the point value. Note, Municipal Court staff cannot give legal advice. You must contact the NJMVC on your own or through your attorney to obtain this information.
Q.WHY DIDN'T I RECEIVE A NEW COURT DATE WHEN I CHANGED MY ADDRESS AT THE POST OFFICE?
A. All address changes need to be made directly to the Old Bridge Municipal Court and the N.J. Motor Vehicle Commission.
Q. WHAT IS THE NUMBER TO THE MIDDLESEX COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT?
Q. WHERE DO I GO TO GET A RESTRAINING ORDER?
A. Restraining orders are obtained from the Middlesex County Superior Court, 120 New Street, New Brunswick, New Jersey, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Outside of those hours you can apply for a temporary restraining order at any local police department or state police barracks.
Q. WHERE AND WHEN CAN I FILE A COMPLAINT?
A. You can file a complaint in Old Bridge Municipal Court, 1 Old Bridge Plaza, Old Bridge, New Jersey, Monday through Friday during posted hours. Please refer to the schedule on the main page. After hours you may go to the Old Bridge Police Department to file an incident report only.
Q. CAN I SUE SOMEONE THROUGH THE MUNICIPAL COURT?
