LAURENCE HARBOR WATER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS - PHASE 1

The Old Bridge Township Municipal Utilities Authority (MUA) is continually evaluating and upgrading their infrastructure throughout their Service area, and as part of their current Program, the water services between the water main and the curb valve in the Laurence Harbor area are being inspected and may be replaced with new piping and components.

Lucas Brothers Inc. of Morganville, NJ has been contracted by the Old Bridge MUA to construct the project and, weather permitting, they anticipate starting work on or about the week of September 27, 2021. Construction will generally occur between the hours of 7:00 AM and 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday; other days and times such as Saturdays maybe required due to field conditions or weather. Construction on Norwood Ave. is expected to last several weeks.

Please note that, while the work is being performed, traffic flow in the work area will be restricted. Driveways may be obstructed as work is done at that location, but driveways should be available at the end of each work day. Please do not park on the street during working hours while this work is ongoing as that may interfere with the construction.

The work involved includes performing a test pit to locate and evaluate each existing water service and then, depending on that evaluation, perhaps relocating the service to a different water main on the street or perhaps replacement of the service to the curb line. As the work progresses, it may be necessary to have short shutdowns of the water main on a street to connect certain piping. We will provide a separate Notice if there is to be a street-wide shutdown. Additionally, if your individual house service is being relocated or replaced, there will be a short shutdown (approximately 1-4 hours) of just your service - this will be coordinated with each homeowner individually.

Please note that during the course of the work, any shutdowns may agitate the existing water main, and this may cause some discoloration of your water for a short period of time. This is normal, and should dissipate by running the faucet for 10 to 15 minutes. If the problem persists, please contact us at the number below.

Every effort will be made by the Contractor to minimize inconvenience to the Residents during the construction. CME Associates, representing the OBMUA, will have representatives in the area while the work proceeds. If you have any questions or comments, do not hesitate to approach one of these representatives or to contact Mr. Paul De La Costa of CME Associates at 732-727-8000 x 1244.

Thank you for your anticipated cooperation during these improvements.
